DONGARA DISTRICT HIGH SCHOOL

The staged redevelopment of the entire Dongara District High School, designed and constructed while the existing buildings remained in use.

The school’s existing buildings were no longer considered to be of an appropriate standard or suitably configured.

It was therefore necessary to develop a new master plan consistent with DoE Guidelines, which would also facilitate staged construction to allow the school to continue to function effectively throughout the construction phase. This entailed the construction of 10 new buildings and conversion of the Student Admin to Student Services.

Swept roofs supported on colourful blade columns reference the distinctive windswept forms of the coastal trees characteristic to this area of WA.
